Affirm Yourself

Affirmations have become a big part of my life. It's something that I really cling to that really gives me such a sense of hope.

According to the dictionary to affirm is to:

  • state as a fact

  • declare one's support for

  • accept or confirm the validity of a judgement or agreement

  • make a formal declaration

  • offer emotional support or encouragement

And why would affirming something be important? Affirming something takes something where there was once doubt and replaces it with a statement of faith. Affirming something takes out the ugly and replaces it with something beautiful. Affirming something makes something as if though it were. And affirming something builds up this confidence inside of you.

"The words of the reckless pierce like swords, but the tongue of the wise brings healing."
– Proverbs 12:18

"Anxiety weighs down the heart, but a kind word cheers it up."
– Proverbs 12:25

According to God's word our words are healing and cheer up our heart. So when we affirm something in our lives we are bringing healing to our body, mind and heart.

Let's take affirmations to heart, let's put into practice what we want to see come line up in our lives (as long as it lines up with God's word). Let's start to speak these things over ourselves.

To start us off, I've provided some instagram graphics and instagram story/phone background graphics for you to download and use to start speaking some affirmations over yourselves. I pray that you will use them and make them a focal point in your life this week.
